DESCRIPTION - DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet
The car is fitted with numerous electronic control units that perform a self-diagnostic function. When a diagnostic tester (Examiner or other device) is connected to these control units, self-diagnosis data can be read (parameters, errors) or the available active diagnostic tests can be carried out.All the diagnostic lines flow into the EOBD connector (European On Board Diagnosis) which conforms with Directive 98/69/CE (EURO 3) - ISO standard J1962 - located under the dashboard to the left of the driver above the Body Computer.Via the same connector it is possible to diagnose all the nodes (control units) connected to the low speed B-CAN network and the high-speed C-CAN dynamic control network.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet
The centralized diagnostic socket R010 receives a direct battery power supply, at pin 16, from the line protected by fuse F36 of the Body Computer M001 (pin 20 of connector E); pins 4 (power) and 5 (signal) of R010 are connected to the driver''s dashboard earth C015.Pins 6 and 14 of R010 are connected to the C-CAN: this network controls and diagnoses the electric steering control unit M086, the engine management control unit M010, the Convergence control unit M162 (Blue & Me version), the braking system control unit M051 and, on versions with ESP, the slewing control unit M091. The Body Computer M001 is connected to the C-CAN at pins 25 and 27 of connector D.Pins 1 and 9 of R010 are connected to the B-CAN: this network controls and diagnoses the instrument panel E050, the radio P020 and the Convergence control unit (on Blue & Me versions), the climate control system control unit M070, the Air Bag control unit M060 and the parking sensor control unit M084. The Body Computer M001 is connected to the B-CAN at pins 23 and 19 of connector D.
