Automotive Electricians Portal FZCO Location of componentsComponents DescriptionThe vehicle climate control system involves a duct/distributor unit with a heater, controlled via three knobs in the dashboard: the left knob mechanically controls the mixture flap between hot and cold air;the right knob, mechanically operated via a cable, controls the opening of the flaps which regulate the distribution of air flows;the centre knob electrically controls the air ventilation at four different speeds; two versions are available: a three speed and a four speed one.
The operation of the fan at different speeds is achieved through a resistive divider, protected by a special thermal fuse to prevent overheating. There is also a cursor on the control panel, located under the knobs, which mechanically regulates the "recirculation" function via a cable. HEATERThe control panel is lit up when the side lights are on.The fan circuit is protected by a specific fuse, in the junction unit, controlled by the passenger compartment air fan relay, located in the duct/distributor uni.The fan only operates when the ignition is switched ON. Functional description The relay J35 controls the heater fan circuit The supply for the relay contact arrives from the battery through the line for the maxifuse J/B1 of B5 protected by fuse F12 for the junction unit B1 , whilst the energizing of the coil is controlled by the ignition (INT/A) through the line protected by fuse B27 . The relay J35 supplies the control knob H81: this controls the fan at the different speeds via the regulator O30. The voltage signal varies according to the position of the knob and through the resistance of the regulator O30 determining four different voltage signals for the fan N85 which sends outside or recirculation air to he duct/distributor unit at 4 different speeds. The control panel has ideograms which are lit up, when the side lights are on, by lights G45, supplied by the line protected by fuse F3 for the junction unit B1 ( See E2010
