DescriptionThe vehicle is equipped with a device that makes it possible to adjust the the headlight beam, depending on the load, directly from the driver's seat. The headlamps are thus always aligned quickly and correctly. The adjustment device consists of a motor mounted on each of the two headlamps which tilts them as appropriate, lowering the light beam if the car is heavily laden, and raising it if the load decreases.A special control in the instrument panel makes it possible to select four possible positions. The upper switch decreases the value of the position (the light beam is raised), the lower switch increases the value of the position (the light beam is lowered). The switch should be pressed for 200 ms. If the switch is pressed for longer, there are no increases or decreases; the switches should be released and pressed again to change position. The device is only enabled when the dipped headlamps are switched on.
Functional description The supply for the headlamp alignment correction motors, integrated in the front light clusters F010 and F011, is provided by the body computer node M001, from pin 6 connector B. The supply is only provided if the dipped headlamps are switched on (for further details SeeE2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS ). The front light cluster parabola position setting is managed by the switches in the instrument panel E050. The instrument panel E050 receives the earth reference C020 connector B and the ignition-operated supply at pin 2 and 7 connector A, respectively.767 Earth C020 is fastened to the passenger compartment floor and is located near the right front wheel arch (footwell area). Coupling D001 is housed in the lower part of the right front pillar, near the door cable duct. The instrument panel sends the signal to the electric motors for correcting the headlamp alignment from pin 6 connector A. The instrument panel shows the headlamp aglinment correction setting through an LCD.
