DescriptionThe system operates with the ignition key turned ON.The windscreen wash/wipe system is operated by a stalk switch on the right side of the steering wheel; When the lever is turned in a clockwise direction, there are four possible positions:windscreen wiper off: steering column switch unit lever in rest position;intermittent operation (first steering column switch unit lever position): the windscreen wiper motor operates at the 1st speed;continuous, fast operation (1st speed): second steering column switch unit lever position;continuous, fast operation (2nd speed); third steering column switch unit lever position. Turning the lever in an anti-clockwise direction activates the 'antipanic' function. The windscreen wiper motor operates at the 2 nd speed for the entire time this position is maintained. The windscreen washer function is operated by pulling the lever gently towards the steering wheel: the windscreen washer pump is activated in this way; if the lever is kept in this position, the windscreen wipers will come on (continuous, fast operation at 1 st speed); when the lever is released, the windscreen wipers will continue to operate for several strokes. After about six seconds, calculated from when the windscreen wiper park position is reached at the end of the last stroke cycle, there is an additional windscreen wiper stroke (after-wipe function). The windscreen wash/wipe function is managed entirely by the body computer node.
Functional description The steering column switch unit H005 sends the commands to the body computer node M001 for operating the windscreen wiper and washer motor via a negative signal, with reference to earth C020 connector B (from pin 2 connector B of H005).767 Earth C020 is fastened to the passenger compartment floor and is located near the right front wheel arch (footwell area). By turning the steering column switch unit internal switch A:position 1 (pin 8 connector A): operates the 1st windscreen wiper motor speed;position 2 (pin 7 connector A): operates the intermittent speed (1st speed);position 3 (pin 9 connector A): operates the 2nd windscreen wiper motor speed. The body computer node activates the 2 nd speed even when the steering column switch unit internal switch B is turned to position 1 (antipanic function). Depending on the command received, the body computer:activates the 1st speed supplying the windscreen wiper motor N015 from pin 9 connector B;activates the 2nd speed by supplying the windscreen wiper motor N015 from pin 10 connector B.767 The windscreen wiper motor power supply is provided by the body computer node and the line is protected by fuse F43 housed in the actual junction unit. The fuse is operated by a relay integrated in the body computer node which, depending on the speed requested, provides the power supply for the windscreen wiper motor from pin 9 or 10 connector B. The body computer node receives the end of stroke position for the wiper arm at pin 8 connector C from the windscreen wiper motor N015. Turning the steering column switch unit H005 internal switch B to position 2 (pin 6 connector A), activates the windscreen washer function. The body computer node M001 provides the power supply, from pins 3, 4 connector B, for the windscreen washer pump motor N022. The supply line is protected by fuse F53, housed in the body computer node, and is operated by a relay incorporated in the junction unit.
