DescriptionThe system operates with the ignition key turned ON.The rearscreen wiper is operated by turning the ring nut at the end of the right steering column switch unit lever. The operation of the rearscreen wiper motor is controlled intermittently by the body computer node. The rearscreen wiper is activated in synchronization with the operation of the windscreen wiper, but at half the frequency, in all windscreen wiper operating conditions (intermittent/continuous).The windscreen washer function is operated by pushing the lever gently towards the dashboard: the rearscreen washer pump (the same one as for the windscreen washer) is activated in this way; if the lever is kept in this position, the rearscreen wiper will also come on; When the lever is released, the windscreen wipers will continue to operate for several strokes. After about six seconds, calculated from when the rearscreen wiper park position is reached at the end of the last stroke cycle, there is an additional rearscreen wiper stroke (after-wipe function). When the windscreen wiper is working, engaging reverse gear automatically activates the rearscreen wiper. The rearscreen wash/wipe function is managed entirely by the body computer node.
Functional description The steering column switch unit H005 sends commands to the body computer node M001 for activating the rearscreen wiper and washer motor by means of a negative signal, with reference to earth C020 connector B (from pin 2 connector B of H005).767 Earth C020 is fastened to the passenger compartment floor and is located near the right front wheel arch (footwell area). Turning the steering column switch unit H005 internal switch A to position 1 (pin 2 connector A) controls the operation of the rearscreen wiper motor. Having received the command, from pin 3 connector E, the body computer node M001, provides the power supply to the rearscreen wiper motor N016. The line is protected by fuse F52, housed inside the body computer node, and is operated by a relay incorporated in the junction unit. The body computer receives the end of stroke signal for the wiper arm from the rearscreen wiper motor N016 at pin 6 connector F. Turning the steering column switch unit H005 internal switch B to position 1 activates the rearscreen washer function. The body computer node M001 provides the supply, from pins 3, 4 connector B, for the rearscreen washer pump motor N022. The supply line is protected by fuse F53, housed in the body computer, and is operated by a relay incorporated in the junction unit. The body computer node activates the rearscreen wiper even when pin 1 connector C receives the reverse gear engagement signal coming from switch I020 (only if the windscreen wiper function is activated).
