DescriptionThe vehicle is equipped with a front cigar lighter/current socket located in the centre console. Its operation is controlled by a specific relay and it is protected by a fuse, both located in the engine compartment junction unit. The direct battery supply is only enabled with the ignition key in the MAR position (INT/A). This strategy is designed to provide the maximum current to the engine whilst it is switched on, given the high absorption of any consumers connected to the socket. The cigar lighter/current socket has its own internal lighting which is activated when the side lights are on.To operate the cigar lighter, simply press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically, ready for use.
Functional description The power supply for the cigar lighter/current socket P050 is controlled by the ignition (INT/A), therefore excluded whilst the engine is being started, and is operated by relay T08. The relay coil receives a direct battery supply; when the ignition key is turned to position MAR, the relay closes its internal contact, thereby providing a supply to the current socket. The body computer M001 only supplies the current socket internal light, from pin 7 connector E, when the side lights are switched on (for further details SeeE2530 INSTRUMENT LIGHTING ). 767 Earth C020 is fastened to the passenger compartment floor and is located near the right front wheel arch (footwell area).
