DescriptionThe engine cooling system consists of a fan operated by the engine control unit, in accordance with the parameters supplied by the coolant temperature sensor and the linear pressure sensor. The operation of the fan is controlled by two specific relays, located in the engine compartment junction unit. The fan supply line and the relay energisation circuit are protected by two specific fuses located in the engine compartment junction unit. The fan has two operating speeds, activated by the engine control unit in accordance with data received by the water temperature sensor and linear pressure sensor.
Functional description The engine control unit M010 receives signals from the coolant temperature sensor K036 and the linear pressure sensor K120. In accordance with these data, the engine control unit M010 activates the first or second speed of the fan N011.Activation of first speed:from pin 7 connector B, the engine control unit, via a negative signal, energises the relay T06;the direct battery supply supplied by the relay T06 passes through the resistor O010 and reaches the fan N011.Activation of second speed:from pin 8, connector B, the engine control unit, via a negative signal, energises the relay T07;the direct battery supply provided by the relay T07 reaches the fan N011 directly. Via the CAN network See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES , the engine control unit M010 sends the coolant temperature information to the instrument panel E050, for managing the relevant temperature gauge housed in the panel (for further details SeeE4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
